The other half of the tradition.

Most people know the first half of this story: Bulgaria’s old craft of reading the body’s condition in the iris, and the app we built to carry that knowledge forward. But reading the iris was only ever half of the tradition. The other half happened after the reading — when the practitioner would turn to the shelves, take down jars of dried herbs, and mix something by hand for the person sitting across from them.
Why Bulgaria
Herbs are not a sideline here. Bulgaria is the largest producer of herbs in the European Union and one of the biggest exporters of wild herbs in the world. Around 770 medicinal plant species — roughly one in five of all plants in the country — grow here, most of them wild: on mountainsides and meadows, not in chemical farms. Gathered by hand, dried whole, untreated — no pesticides, no genetic modification, no processing beyond drying and blending. That abundance is why the knowledge of what each herb does, and how to combine them, has been passed from generation to generation and never died out.
Recipes refined across generations
The blends in this shop were never invented in a season. They come out of that living tradition — recipes adjusted, simplified and re-balanced across decades of daily practice, the way a cook refines a dish made ten thousand times. We gathered them the same way we gathered the iris-reading knowledge behind the app: by studying with the people who still master the craft, and writing down what they had always carried in their heads and on hand-written labels.
How the blends are made
Every blend in the shop is prepared the traditional way: herbs gathered and dried, then mixed by hand, in small batches, in Bulgaria. No extraction plants, no flavourings, no fillers — whole herbs you can see and name. That is also why we photograph the products the way we do: every product photograph shows the actual herbs inside that blend, not a stylised stand-in. Each product page lists every ingredient, with its Latin name, and how the blend is traditionally prepared at home.
What these remedies are — and what they aren’t
- They are traditional herbal preparations — teas and tablets from Bulgaria’s herbal tradition, made by hand in small batches.
- They are not medicines. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, and we will never tell you otherwise.
- They are not a substitute for your doctor. If you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication or managing a condition, talk to a healthcare professional before adding any herbal preparation to your routine.
This tradition never promised miracles, and neither will we. What we promise is simpler: the recipes are traditional, the herbs are real, the batches are small, and every label says exactly what is inside.
